The Facts About Global Warming
Many scientists
agree that the general evidence supporting the basic
facts about global warming, considering that many facts
have been discussed and debated among the experts, are
accurate. But as some will argue about the facts of
global warming, claiming changes have come about purely
by human causes, but others will argue it all to do with
the natural evolution of the earth. But either way, we
just cannot ignore the facts that radical changes have to
made to protect our planet
earth.
Some Basic Evidence of Greenhouse Gases
There are some
disturbing facts about global warming that can be accurately
measured. This evidence includes the fact that the level of
carbon dioxide and methane in the earth’s atmosphere has
increased to the highest point in six hundred fifty thousand
years. Another fact about global warming is the increased rate
of glaciers and sea ice melting. Warming that is bleaching
coral is causing destruction of our oceans and tropical
diseases are spreading at faster rates.
Greenhouse Gases – the facts
Among the facts
about global warming is the cause of the warming. Greenhouse
gases cover the atmosphere and trap the sun’s heat. Carbon
dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide are emissions that cause
greenhouse gases. Burning fossil fuels is a fact about global
warming that is the cause of most carbon dioxide emissions. We
burn fossil fuels when we drive our cars and generate
electricity in power plants. Reducing these emissions is the
most important reason everyone needs to know the facts about
global warming.
Further need for Research And Education
Everyone should
research and the facts about global warming for themselves. Use
the Internet for research and try to start conversations at
home and at work. The more we are all aware of the facts about
global warming the better prepared we can be to make better
choices for our energy needs.
We can all do our bit
We can all help
reduced the pollutants released everyday by changing our
transportation choices, changing our light bulbs, use renewable
energy sources and conserving paper products. But above all,
the governments of all countries have to make a serious and
committed effective effort to combat the causes of global
warning. There is adequate scientific evidence to support the
damaging facts of global warming, that to continue to ignore
this issue on such a grand scale will result in replaceable
damage leading to severe changes to our world as we no
it.
Automobiles cause twenty percent of United States carbon
dioxide emissions, probably one of highest in the world. The
United States is the world’s larges consumer of oil. We could
reduce our dependence on oil by carpooling, using public
transportation, building bike paths and just driving less.
Sadly, the USA’s attitude to the problems of global warming is
alarmingly dismal. Another thing we can all do is vote for
government representatives who will promote clean renewable
energy alternatives.
Coal burning power plants are one of the major contributors
to pollution, using renewable sources of energy as an
alternative, such as wind and solar energy, which make use and
harness natural resources that would significantly reduce
damaging emissions. By using these modern sources of energy to
naturally generate electricity without any form of emissions,
this could then be used as the energy fuel for cars and buses
and other consumer items.
